BA in English Students ' Exit English Level

This presentation shares the findings of a research project that explores perceptions about the BA in English Students ' Exit English Level at Universidad Veracruzana. We hope that these findings contribute to improve the way teaching and learning English as a foreign language are carried out in Mexico, since this aspect has not been given the importance that it requires. The presentation will include a general description of the research project with a special emphasis on the results obtained, which seem to indicate that there is certain concordance among the students’ and teachers’ perceptions and the actual exam results.

Nowadays, the current society has a wide range of technological resources that have influenced education as the Blended Learning( BL). In fact, there are different collaborative tools that support the teaching-learning process in a language such as Facebook, Google Docs, blogs, virtual forums and so on. The purpose of this research is to identify how the virtual forum is helping students to develop the reading comprehension process in a new modality as the blended learning one.

The research explores deeply the theory of interpretation. Moreover, the experiences of professional interpreters are in consideration for the content that will be part of the course. Nevertheless, to know the theory of interpretation is not enough. The needs of Durango ' s interpreters that are analysed in this document are compared to national and international interpreter’ s usual needs and training.

Teniendo los esfuerzos enfocados para atender por separado la enseñanza del inglés por un lado y la enseñanza de la Lengua de Señas Mexicana se tienen pocos antecedentes sobre estudios documentados que las unan. Ante este panorama, se abre una posibilidad para el desarrollo de una iniciativa o propuesta didáctica que permita la transmisión del idioma inglés a personas sordomudas.
