This can be due to the teaching procedures does not appeal to students. Therefore, it is proposed to use alternative materials to textbooks. In this case short stories. This is based on the belief that short stories are “better than other narrative forms” (Kendall, 2007, p.5) in terms of developing students’ language skills and motivation towards English language learning. In order to discover to what extent this idea may be true, this inquiry explored secondary students’ responses to a set of literary texts. Lamentablemente, la gran mayoría de los estudiantes universitarios ven el aprendizaje de idiomas como requisito para titularse, ésta postura debe formar parte del pasado y cambiar. Por lo tanto, los idiomas constituyen herramientas y medios que ayudan a progresar en las metas de todo estudiante. La propuesta del siguiente trabajo es incentivar a los futuros profesores de idiomas a usar sin temor las TIC’s dentro del salón de clase POP15
