Draw the profile of the frame.
Dimension the rebate sketch
lines to the Exterior and
Interior Reference planes.
Lock these dimensions. This
will enable you to place the
family in thicker of thinner
walls and the rebate will stay
the same. Finish the sketch
and the sweep. Flex the family
to make sure that the frame
reacts accordingly. Load the
family into your project the
double test. Fix any problems.
Increase the width of the
family. We will now extrude
the first door panel. We will
use the rebate of the frame as
the work plane for this
extrusion. Click on the ‘Create’
TA, click ‘Extrusion’. Then,
click on the ‘Set’ button. Then
click on the face of the frame
rebate.
The Work plane dialogue
window will open. Select ‘Pick
Plane’ and click OK. Then
select the front face of the
frame rebate. A ‘Go To View’
dialogue window will open.
Select ‘ Elevation: Exterior’
and click ‘Open View’. We will
create the extrusion from an
elevation view.
