pocket, he very eagerly jumped at that
idea,” Lyndsay explains. Their parents
adapted to the new plan, hiding in the
trees nearby to share in the excite-
ment. “Sean proposed in the sub-zero
temperature on a frosted beach on one
of my favorite lakes,” Lyndsay says.
“Proposing in the freezing rain with
two large dogs bouncing at the famil-
iar shadows lurking in the trees could
not have been easy! We still laugh
about it to this day.” She adds happily,
“It will always be one of our favorite
days, ice, chaos and all.”
When it came to planning their
wedding, they chose a destination that
meant a lot to them. “We planned
our wedding from across the country,”
Lyndsay says. “When anyone heard
we were having a destination wedding,
they thought, ‘Oh, tropical!’ I would
explain that in fact, no, we were going
to the cold Teton Mountain range.
When asked why, I would simply
respond with, ‘It’s the most beautiful
place I’ve ever been.’ And that still
holds true.”
It may surprise some, but the exact
location of their ceremony was one of
the last things to be settled. “For Sean
and I together, our favorite memory
in planning came the day before we
said ‘I do,’” Lyndsay says. “[W]e did
not yet have a location. We tirelessly
dragged my family around the park
looking for a bridge that I had crossed
on a hike years before – a bridge
that I couldn’t pick off a map to save
my life – and we stumbled upon it.
Twenty-four hours later, that bridge
would become the iconic aisle that my
parents would walk me down.”
That memorable bridge set the
tone for their entire wedding scene.
“Our day was truly something magi-
cal,” Lyndsay explains. “The moun-
tains were perfectly blanketed in snow
that trickled into the greenery in our
