True Wyoming
A FRESH, AUTHENTIC RANCH WEDDING
We sat down with
Anne Brande of
Ludwig Photography,
a fourth-generation
Wyoming Wedding
photographer to hear
Bree and Michael’s
charming story..
B
ree and Michael met in 2014 while
attending the University of Wyoming
through mutual friends who, like
them, loved country swing dance. Their first
date was at Born in a Barn in Downtown
Laramie for hot wings and a drive to nearby
Lake Hattie, where under the stars with only
headlights from Bree’s Explorer, they danced
on the dock.
“Bree would wait outside in the cold and
snow after class for me,” Michael says. “That’s
how I knew she loved me.” When not study-
ing you could find them herding cows, fixing
fence or haying on Bree’s family ranch. One
evening Michael took Bree’s dad to McAl-
lister’s in Laramie and asked for her hand in
marriage. After receiving his approval, Michael
put his plan into action by taking Bree to the
perfect place, the dock at Lake Hattie. There,
with the Snowy Mountain Range stand-
ing majestically off in the distance, Michael
proposed.
WYOMING FROM AFAR
Coming over on the Queen Mary, Bree’s
French-born grandmother and Polish-born
granddad fell in love with each other and
Wyoming. They worked hard, saved money
