and found it in a family heirloom . His grandmother offered him the ring his grandfather had proposed with , which gave Thomas a great idea – he would propose at Christmas , exactly when his grandfather had proposed before . On their first Christmas Day together in Mississippi , complete with a new puppy , Thomas presented Micaela with a box labeled “ To My Wife , From Your Husband .” When Micaela opened the pink velvet box , Thomas got down on one knee . “ He was worried that I wouldn ’ t like the ring because it was older and he didn ’ t know if I would want his Nana ’ s ring ,” Micaela says . “ I immediately fell in love with it . It looks like three little flowers ( with diamonds ), and I ’ ve never seen a ring like it ! Plus it means so much more being a family heirloom !”

To reduce the number of wedding decorations coming home , Micaela chose a single red rose and baby ’ s breath in milk glass vases for centerpieces , sent home with special guests . They also enjoyed the bonus of taking their photographer , Alexa Jade Photography , inside the Victorian mansion for intimate portraits .
Alexa captured the rich colors and creative , historic details of Thomas and Micaela ’ s wedding day , a 40 ’ s themed wedding set in red , white and blue . Micaela chose a gown described as “ Old Hollywood complete with vintage opera
