Micaela and Thomas ’ s story started with a friendship that began when they were working at the same apartment complex . That friendship became a relationship when they found themselves the last members of a group of friends waiting for $ 13 , Friday the 13 th piercings in Fort Collins . “( Our friends ) decided to leave early because they didn ’ t want to wait in line ,” Micaela explains . “ We ended up having a lot of fun , meeting some cool people ( in line ), and when we got back to Laramie we spent a few more hours just driving around and talking .”
The couple moved to Thomas ’ s home state of Mississippi to follow a better job opportunity for Thomas . “( Thomas is ) extremely bad at hiding things from me ,” Micaela laughs . When Micaela ’ s family visited for Mother ’ s Day , Thomas told her he was going to ask for their blessing . “ My dad didn ’ t actually say yes ,” Micaela says . “ Instead he told him it was a ‘ one time deal .’” Micaela knew a proposal was coming but didn ’ t know when . Thomas searched for a perfect ring
