The College remains committed to the aim of providing public benefit in accordance with the Founder ’ s intention , and recognises that it is itself a community of past and present pupils , staff and parents and has an individual and collective responsibility for the College , the community and the wider world . The College continues to provide benefit in a wide variety of ways , some examples of which are detailed below .
SUPPORTING OTHERS
Winchester College volunteers have worked hard to support residents throughout the city during the pandemic .
2,500 gloves , 100 pairs of safety spectacles and 100 disposable aprons delivered to Southampton General Hospital , Hampshire Ambulance Service and the Royal Hampshire County Hospital .
3,000 microwaveable meals made and delivered , in partnership with Trinity Winchester and the Salvation Army , supporting homeless or vulnerable adults .
280 meals a week made by the school ’ s chefs and delivered by College minibus drivers to isolating families .
30 pupils from 7 local primary schools received an online maths programme .
Staff support given to NHS Telehealth Service at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital , providing support for care homes , paramedics and GPs .
