COMMUNITY & EDUCATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS
Winchester provides practical support and enrichment opportunities to the local community and to other schools in the region .
The Community Service programme collaborates annually with 40 external organisations in the city of Winchester and Southern Hampshire , and involves more than 300 pupils and 50 dons giving 18,000 hours of voluntary work .
The Physics department , in collaboration with the Institute of Physics , remotely hosted a half-day programme of workshops for 50 teachers and technicians from maintained sector schools .
Weekly visits to 9 local nursing homes , providing a diverse range of activities .
Hosting a concert for 50 local primary school children .
Over 500 Year 5 pupils participate in our Primary Schools Rivers Project annually .
Partnering with 7 local primary schools and 2 special schools to assist with numeracy , literacy and extra-curricular skills .
Running a 10-week Maths and Science programme for 30 primary school children in Science School .
Sharing of resources , personnel and opportunity with 3 secondary schools , Crown and Manor Club , and working with schools across the southern region supporting university applications .
