T9 / LUKEY HEIGHTS
Lukey is a really nice corner , I love it and I am really fast there . Again , you have to turn in with lots of confidence . I like to brake late but strong and stop the bike quite fast , to then pick up the throttle quite fast . Then , basically , I am crossed up , smoking it all the way over the hill and down to the braking zone . It is magic when you get it right . Another one where it is very hard to get it perfect .

T10 / MG Hairpin

The approach is blind but you can kinda see where you are at because of the braking markers on the left , when you are heading down the hill . As soon as you go over the crest you can see the corner . You cannot attack too hard on the brakes there . It feels really slow when you get to the apex , but you get going fast again - real fast - real soon !

REMY GARDNER
The true classic circuit that is Phillip Island , all 4.450km of it , has a history that predates WorldSBK . A naturally sculpted wonder , aided by the human touch , it is a perennial favourite for riders all over the world . No need to go that far to get an intimate description of the track and its secrets , however , as Moto2 World Champion , recent MotoGP™ rider and WorldSBK ‘ rookie ’ in the GYTR GRT Racing Yamaha Team , Remy Gardner , is as Aussie as they come . He has been racing all sorts of bikes here since 2010 , when he first launched himself down the start / finish straight towards the watery backdrop of the awesome Bass Straight . Who better to tell us what it ’ s like to ride PI , and offer up some of its secrets to boot ?
T11-T12
Coming out of MG you want to try to get to the right as far as possible , especially with a bike that doesn ’ t turn , and then you want to keep it tight for a long time , until you find that point where you want to pick up the bike and feed the power . If you start putting down power before that you will start to chew the edge of the tyre out . You have to hug the inside and wait through that exit line before you can drive . PI is probably one of the hardest tracks on tyres .
