This is an area of unprotected forest near Ramsey Road, defined as “Willow Mineral Deciduous Swamp.” This swamp composes five hectares of the Thundering Waters Secondary Plan area in seven different polygons. It is “dominated by White Willow and Eastern Cottonwood, with Black Walnuts and American Elm, in both the canopy and subcanopy.” Understory plants include Silky Dogwood, Gray Dogwood, Highbush Cranberry, Hawthorns, Chokecherry and Bebb’s Willow.
