Between Ramsey Road and the rail line there is an impressive vernal pool on both sides of a bridge. Since water gets up to eight feet deep here it is an important breeding area for frogs and salamanders. While it is important natural habitat, this area is impaired and blighted by trash dumping. It should be a high priority site for a clean-up effort! This is a photo of young salamanders on Ramsey Road ruts in the southern large block of protected wetland south of the rail line. 13
