Benefits: Challenges and Suggestions:
The byproducts of each sector serves as inputs
for other sector in integrated farming system
and reduces the cost of inputs on the farmer’s
shoulder. Integrated farming is also serving as
an alternative approach to livelihoods in case of
natural calamities. The foremost important challenge is to eliminate
middlemen from marketing channel thereby
maximizing the direct profit to the farmer.
Secondly, the authority for price fixation should
lie with the farmer. Further, animal dung can
be used in proper way to make manure i.e.
vermicompost. The unutilized fooder can be
converted into hay/silage making which will be
helpful to the farmers in drought.
