in the Sunday Keys app to help you start to notice the common things that you hear across these descriptors.
BUT LET’ S ZOOM OUT AND TALK ABOUT TIMBRE. If you sort by Timbre in the Sunday Keys app, you can select different sound types such as“ Cloudy” and view all the sounds that fit in this category.
Once you’ ve chosen a timbre that interests you, you can apply additional filtering to find a specific patch that fits the worship sound you want.
As you start to hear the common traits of keys sounds, even if the sounds themselves are very different, you’ ll be more comfortable when you are searching for a sound.
CREATE YOUR OWN LIBRARY When you find a sound that you bring into a patch, you can tweak its settings to dial it in for your specific song or service. Once you make those changes in Sunday Keys, you can export tthis dialed in version of the Sound, or even an entire Patch, to your library. You can build your own custom user library to make it easy for volunteers on your team to choose the right Sounds.
This can help your volunteers if you only want them picking from certain sounds that fit your room and your band. This is the most volunteerfriendly way to save time and create a library of go-to sounds for your ministry.
TRUST YOUR GUT Don’ t allow yourself to be paralyzed by all of the options. The whole point of Sunday Keys is to provide you with a curated experience that makes it genuinely difficult to make bad choices or create something that is unusable. Especially if you stick to category and type best practices, rate your favorite patches, and create your own library, it gets easier and easier to find sounds that make sense.
If you find that you’ re taking hours to prepare your sounds for worship right now, Sunday Keys can help you save tons of time.
One tip for after your service: I always re-export any patch I’ ve made changes to back into my user library if I know I’ ll want to use it in a future service. A little bit of housekeeping afterwards, can go a long way.
