The guitar has a very light matte finish , and the Walnut grain is very nice . In fact , with a high gloss finish it would be stunning , but the goal of these Sheeran by Lowden guitars is that they remain affordable . Thus the matte finish .
The playability is good . Fretwork is well done . Being a smaller body , the nut width is a bit smaller than I am used to but your hands adjust quickly to the change . When playing fingerstyle , the notes ring clear .
Where George and Ed got this right was making sure that each guitar is made in Ireland in the same guitar making plant that builds the higher priced Lowden guitars right next to them . No oversea OEM here . All 3,000 of these guitars were designed and will be built in Ireland . Plus , it is an affordable way to discover who Lowden is as a fine acoustic guitar luthier .
The “=” comes with a very well-made gig bag . Add up the warm tone , easy portability due to size and LR Baggs pick-up and you get a very good instrument from Ireland for just $ 1,260.00 U . S . Dollars . Not bad at all Ed and George … not bad at all .
