DPA 2017 SHOTGUN MICROPHONE | Kent Morris
Known throughout the world , and even on Mars for quality , DPA Microphones offers a gold standard array of transducers designed for any conceivable application . From head worn mics to instrument and choral mics to studio standard and world class reference mics , DPA takes the same approach , regardless of intended use . They simply design and manufacture each model to the highest possible level . Nothing is rushed , nothing is scaled for mass consumption , and the result is clear : DPA is the first choice of professionals because it works as advertised every time .

JC Bittence , a devoted representative of the company , devised a game of mini golf using the 2017 as the putter . After striking hundreds of balls , the mic was tested and found to be well within spec of new . Again , after hundreds of impacts the mic still met spec for a unit coming off the assembly line . The point was made : DPA mics will survive almost any danger they are likely to encounter in the wild . This fact matters on a shotgun mic because it is used in harsh environments for outdoor movie scenes , festival crowd pick up and ENG news reporting from the field in terrible weather conditions , including direct ingression of rain . For most WM readers , the 2017 will be used indoors as audience mics , in a studio as video segment mics and outdoors as “ man on the street ” mics , but it ’ s reassuring to know the 2017 can handle far worse situations .
As a shotgun design , the 2017 brings new linearity to a class of mics best known for
