up . Blaze adds extra gain and tightens up the low end past 3:00 . With Blaze , Gain , and Drive all the way up and Treble at 8:00 , it ’ s a killer heavy distortion and almost a veritable Fuzz . You can also get a nice creamy overdrive for boosted lines with added hair , by backing them off to taste . I can see this as a great studio board pedal . You can really dial in the subtle stuff a picky producer might want . In all I see three solid ways to use this pedal : a great clean Klone boost , a smooth overdrive , or a fantastic rockin ’ heavy distortion . When first learning this pedal , I recommend putting it on a music stand or table and tweaking it before putting it on your board . Otherwise , you may miss some of the subtle things it can do . The knobs are very interactive so take your time and enjoy . It ’ s much more than a Klon Klone . The Sericon sells for $ 199.00 .
CLARITY FEATURES
instruction sheet , stickers , feet , and a Koozie Cup Kooler . It ’ s got the solid build I ’ ve come to expect from Mojo Hand . The finish is textured with a subtle red and grey on a light silver background . On top are three black knobs : Mix , Comp and Level . There is a white middle button that switches from standard Slope mode to Envelope mode . In and Out are on the sides , with the 9vDC jack on the right side .
MY TAKEAWAY : I ’ m a lover of compression . It adds delicious sustain and keeps your playing more consistent level-wise . That ’ s a win-win for me . To learn how a compressor works , I normally turn the mix all the way up to easily hear what ’ s going on . In Slope mode I can hear the guitar brighten a little and maybe thin out some . When I back off the Comp knob to 11:00 it ’ s nice balanced full sound . Complimenting that by bringing the
Mix to about 11:00 , is where I might keep it on all the time . There are still plenty of dynamics in this setting , with some additional control and sustain . I usually place the compressor right after the Fuzz on a pedalboard . With this mix setting the Fuzz is still happy yet slightly more controlled . Envelope mode clamps the signal down quickly , then releases more slowly . With the settings at full tilt , you can really hear it clamp , followed by a smooth but noticeable pump-like stepping , back up to full volume . In Envelope mode you need to get a good balance between the Mix and Compression to find your sweet spot . Envelope mode is really going to accentuate the nuances of tight rhythm playing and slappy single-note stuff . I instantly loved this compressor and switched out my other studio comp for Clarity . With the Mix and Comp settings both around 11:00 , I love it as an always-on pedal . At that setting I can simply push the Envelope button , and then its perfect for single-note or tight rhythm playing , otherwise I keep it in Slope mode .
Clarity isa versatile compressor that ’ s clean , and can be very transparent in both Slope and Envelope modes . It ’ s almost like having both an LA-2A and an 1176 vibe right there on your pedalboard . Happy compressing ! Clarity sells for $ 139.00
