When I played the Stage Artist this past Sunday morning, it was extremely comfortable. The tone I was getting through the system was exactly what I’ ve been searching and hoping for. I could not have been more pleased! It was very articulate, clear, and punchy. The low-end had a nice, round tone and sustain for days. The narrow“ C” shape neck and comfortable string spacing increases the playability whether I’ m playing finger style or adding in some rhythm. I have been running my acoustic signal through an A / B switch so that I can keep my natural acoustic separated from the duplicate signal that passes through processing like reverb, delay, and shimmer. When I turned the“ B” channel on, the room really came alive. It sounded incredible hearing that nylon string attack sitting on top of the shimmer. Oh so nice!
If I’ m not playing 2nd acoustic in the back of the platform, I don’ t ever want to change guitars unless I crash and burn with a string break or an unfortunate battery outage! However, last Sunday, I just picked up the Cordoba for our response song after the sermon. It was an easy transition with no distraction. As I’ m sitting here writing this article, I am thinking of a list of songs I’ d love to play with this guitar. Also, I should note, I play often with the Kyser Short- Cut Capo( since I developed it, I figure that I should!). The standard Short-Cut will not fit a 1 7 / 8” nut width, so I have one that I handmade for wider necks. It works and sounds great. I really appreciate that on a nylon-string like this Cordoba Stage Artist, I don’ t have to change my playing style other than playing with a bit of a lighter touch.
The Cordoba Stage Artist comes in three finishes, Habano Burst like I have, Agave Burst and Traditional, it retails for $ 1,199.99, and comes with that beautiful blue hard case!
