Okay, Cordoba, you actually had me with the blue hardshell case, even as I was pulling it from the shipping box. Now, you got me thinking … why black? Why are almost every one of my hard cases black? I’ ve had some brown and one that looked like alligator print and all the rest … black. This blue is so classy! I wish I had this case for every guitar I own! Enough about the case, though I’ ll probably mention it again.
Worship musicians, do you ever have the thought that you wish you had a nylon string guitar for this or that song? I’ ve had a couple of them over the years, and it seems I keep wanting to at least own one whether it’ s for recording or for live worship. Every time I hear a song from Willie or Stephen Wilson Jr., I’ m struck by the phenomenal tone they get from their gut-string guitars. I’ m reminded these are not just for classical music!
I received the Cordoba Stage Artist on the week that I had a Night of Worship planned at my church. Perfect timing! Oh, what a beautiful guitar with the Habano Burst flamed maple over solid spruce top and a mahogany, chambered body. The electronics were developed with Fishman. The system has an under-saddle transducer paired with internal body sensors. Three pots are convenient for controlling the electronics … volume, EQ, and blend( between under-saddle and body sensors). The neck has a nut width of 1 7 / 8”( I misspoke in the video thinking it was 2”) and the guitar weighs in right at 5 lbs. The 25.6” scale length neck feels natural when switching between steel string and the Stage Artist.
