where it is needed and avoid the ceiling and floor area where people are not actually sitting , thanks to EAW ’ s ADAPTive technology .
[ WM ] That leads me to my next question . I was reading about your ADAPTive technology which seems unique and specific to EAW . Can you give me the short version of how that technology works ?
[ T . J .] Sure . EAW is unique in all our offerings in that our transducers are more closely spaced together than any competing products . We have some proprietary patented designs that allow us to do that .
The easiest way to describe this is if you look at a typical J array shape , the difference between the box at the top and the box at the bottom of that array is time . In a very simple way , what we are doing with our ADAPTive technology is adding delay to those transducers as you go down the line , and the physics is the same as it is in a J array . It is pushing that sound down underneath the array instead of it going straight ahead .
The ability to automatically detect adjacent loudspeakers and configure the array is a key claim in several of our patents , and AC6 is no exception to that . As you array them , sensors will communicate between the individual AC6 units making them aware of which is on top , which is in the middle , and which is underneath . They also have built-in inclinometers that let you know what the angle of all that is , and so that array is reported back to the AC6 as one unit . You can control an AC6 from the back panel . You do not even have to have a computer .
[ WM ] What solutions do you offer for larger installations ?
[ T . J .] We offer our RSX208L , which is a threeway dual eight-inch line array that goes into a lot of churches . That product is the entry point to an EAW line array system .
[ WM ] I noticed on your website you sell a full range of solutions : amplifiers , processors , software , floor monitors , wedges , etc . Has that end-to-end solution philosophy always been part of your marketing strategy ? HOW ( House of Worship ) has always had those things , but
