Speaking of before the NAMM Show starts , this year I was honored to be a part of NAMM ’ s Oral History . I was interviewed on video , telling the story of my 41 years of attending the show . You know you are getting older when they want to put you in the archives . Ha !
So all of this to say , I do have some perspective to give my two cents worth on the NAMM Show . Who knows what the future may bring , but I do know that this year was better than last year in that more exhibitors returned . I do know that more badge holders / attendees were there as the lines to get into the men ’ s bathroom were longer ( a sure-fire gauge of attendance ).

The guitar brands like C . F . Martin , Takamine , Ibanez , and others that were there had a lot of activity in and around their booths . Some companies opted for meeting rooms rather than displaying products , and that worked well for them . The Pro Audio halls were packed when I went through them . It seems like Pro Audio is getting back on track in a big way .
