TIME ? I DON ’ T HAVE TIME FOR ANYTHING ! | Chelsea Pribyl
There is a time for everything , and a season for every activity under the heavens :
time to be born and a time to die , a time to plant and a time to uproot ,
A time to kill and a time to heal , a time to tear down and a time to build ,
A time to weep and a time to laugh , a time to mourn and a time to dance ,
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather them , a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing ,
A time to search and a time to give up , a time to keep and a time to throw away ,
A time to tear and a time to mend , a time to be silent and a time to speak ,
A time to love and a time to hate , a time for war and a time for peace .
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 NIV
When I first read through this scripture , I thought “ Time ? I don ’ t have time for anything !”. And I bet you can relate .
As a tech artist at your church , you have 100 different things vying for your time . 100 different urgent issues that only you can deal with . 100 different details related to volunteers , equipment , cue sheets , rehearsal times , set designs , snow machines , rental companies , stage setups and so much more .
I get it . I have been there .
There is a swirling vortex that forms around us and it can lead us to believe that we don ’ t have enough time , that no one understands , that we are all alone . The vortex can make us believe that our final result will be complete garbage because it rests on our shoulders , and we just can ’ t wrap our minds around how to get it all done .
But when we can slow ourselves down long enough to step outside the swirling vortex , we can better understand that none of that is really true . We can see what God is calling us to and we can understand what He was speaking through King Solomon in the above text .
Not one thing that you do today is considered random . Each and everything has been appointed by God . It ’ s all been decided beforehand . Every single decision and task completed has a purpose and they are each a part of God ’ s beautiful design .
