Anytime you ' re able to put words in the mouths of people that they can express their worship back to you , it ' s just a huge honor and a huge responsibility . I also think that our prayer would be that people come to know Jesus , that they may lights up the darkness of spaces , and that people who don ' t know Jesus would find Him through these songs , that they would understand that they have a Savior . And that ' s the point of all these songs . Beautiful Jesus . I could go on and on , and that it really would just put words in the mouths of people that have this encounter and see Jesus .
[ WM ] Wonderful . When you said , “ since ' 97 ”, it reminded me when the first Passion record came out . I was a Vice President at EMI back in those days . Louie ( Giglio ) came to a sales conference to represent sixstepsrecords . It could have been ' 98 or ' 99 . He came up to Nashville , and he presented sixstepsrecords to the EMI sales force . I was in the meetings , and then he chose to serve communion to us . That was the first time I met Louie , although we both have Waco , TX roots .
I often reflect back on that , and it ' s always so good to see Louie when I bump into him . It ' s rare , but it ' s just a nice memory for me , that he served me communion the very first time I met him .
[ Melodie ] That ' s such a reflection of his heart and why we do what we do . I don ' t get a chance to say it as often as I wish I could . Yes , he is a worship leader . He is a pastor , but with the authority of a pastor who sees his role .
[ WM ] Well , Melodie , once again , it ' s been a delight to visit with you and I thank you so much for this time .
