lyrics that frame songs and create this kind of emotion for people .” So yeah , that ’ s probably off the top of my head the ways I stay creative and get through just being discouraged .
[ WM ] What are some of your favorite songs you ’ ve been a part of writing ?
[ Andrew ] I feel like my favorite songs that I ’ ve written , have been written in community , they have been co-written . And I didn ’ t co-write for the longest time before I moved to Nashville . But when I moved here I actually really enjoyed getting in the writing rooms with other people and I learned so much and grew so much because of that . I think there ’ s something special about writing music in community and kind of walking through life and processing through life with people .
So probably my favorite song that I ’ ve been a part of writing is called “ Holy Water .” It was written with We The Kingdom ( which is the band that I ’ m in and started with a few other people just in the last few years ). And so , we wrote that song actually as we were supposed to be writing , or producing and recording a different song . We were in the middle of working on a different song , and just the Holy Spirit started to move in the room . Martin had started playing this piano part over on the other side of the room , and we all stopped what we ’ re doing , and were like , “ Ah there ’ s something here , we should chase this .”
It happened real fast . It ’ s crazy that some of my favorite songs , you know … feel like they ’ re just like downloaded and you just kind of catch them . You ’ re “ song catchers ” I think , not songwriters in those cases . I think we wrote it and produced it in a matter of just a few days , which is quite fast . I mean writing it took us a few hours , and then production only took us a few days , which usually producing a song takes maybe a week or so . It ’ s a long process . So that was just a really beautiful song to be a part of , and each time we get to play it , it means even more to me . So that ’ s a special
