ended up becoming a reality . The crazy thing is it was over so quickly , we were in New York City . It was just such a whirlwind thing and such an amazingly unforgettable experience . Just to be there was an honor . I think the last eighteen months we kind of didn ’ t know what to do with it , and once Covid hit … You know , Joel lives in Orange County in California , and we live in Sidney , and one of our editors lives in a different part of America . So , we tried to figure out how to get this thing over the line . There were a lot of different revisions as far as the format and how we would present it , and I definitely had a style and a theme in mind and I ’ m glad that he went with it because I really like how it ’ s been presented and we ’ re quite proud of how it ’ s come out .
[ WM ] Was there quite a bit of team involvement on planning the setlist ?
[ Jad ] The thing was , in America we did that concert . We did forty-one or forty-two of those in America . So , to start you kind of come up
Oceans with a production plan , and arrangements , and all of the different things like lighting , media , and screen content . Then you just make your fine tuning and adjustments and every night you change little things , or you make things better in hopes that it becomes more of a streamlined and cohesive show , if you will . We were constantly making adjustments and trying to trim time here and there and trying to make it feel like a really cohesive experience .
[ WM ] The placement of the song “ Oceans ” was interesting to me . Not as the closing song , bit a little bit before closing . Tell us about the life of that song since its inception and what it still means to Hillsong United ?
