over it and that’ s what really the song was.
And it ties up the whole project and ties our lives up until this point completely.
[ WM ] That’ s great. And then you both collaborated with I believe Cody( Carnes) on the Isaac Watts hymn“ When I Survey.” I love the new treatment of it and you guys did just a great job on that too.
[ Benjamin ] Yeah, I mean that’ s been one of my favorite hymns forever. And so, when we started, I’ ve was scared to touch it, I guess, because I was like, I know it wasn’ t the original original melody, because there’ s only been the most predominant melody. But it was actually really fun to dive into that and give it a new flavor and unpack the trying to keep the characteristics of a hymnic melody but make it something fresh. And adding that chorus was giving it a little twist. It was super fun. And even just getting to write with Cody and the fact that he would sing on it with us was a real honor.
[ WM ] That’ s great. Well, yeah, I love that one too. And the song“ Yahweh”, another new collaboration, right? What could you say about it?
[ Aodhán ] That song has been kind of sitting around for a little while, remnants of that song. I started that song with Joel Houston, probably four or five years ago and it sat as a disheveled verse and chorus for many years. And when we were coming together for this project, I sent Ben a bunch of voice notes as he did to me as well of just ideas. Maybe this could be a good start for us when we get into the studio. And Ben was like,“ Oh, I really think we should work on that“ Yahweh” song.” And so that song, we got into the studio, finished it that week. I mean, I’ ve always loved singing Yahweh, and I’ ve always wanted to write a song that felt like that song. And so, we had that song, we finished that week and as we’ re putting the record together, we were like, it would be nice to have a girl singing on something on this record and we were looking through the list and then“ Yahweh” felt like the right song.
And so this is another God thing, obviously it was a Wednesday at 3:00 PM and we’ re like,“ Who could we get?” And we’ re like,“ Well, we love Tiffany Hudosn. Tiffany’ s awesome. We know Tiffany. She’ s amazing, incredible worship leader.” And we’ re like, well, she lives in North Carolina, so how are we going to do this? She’ s in Charlotte and we’ re in Nashville. And someone’ s like, I think Tiffany’ s actually here, in Nashville just today. I think she has a day off from a tour.
We’ re like,“ No way.” And that’ s actually how it happened. So, I texted her at about 3:00 PM and said,“ Hey, what are you doing?” And she’ s replied,“ Oh, I’ m in Nashville. I’ m on a day off from the tour.” I asked,“ Do you want to come to the studio and sing a song?” And she’ s like,“ Okay.” And then later she came in
