GEAR REVIEW
XBLACK XB 350 HYBRID | Mitch Bohannonn
After reviewing gear for almost two decades , this is my first lighting review ! I met Jayme Braun running an XBlack booth at the CFX conference in Dallas . In a limited space , his lighting display was impressive , and I enjoyed getting to know Jayme as much as I enjoyed the lights . He was telling me how he had been out on tour with Scotty McCreery while launching their own brand of lighting , XBlack . So , if you ’ ve seen a Scotty McCreery show , you ’ ve seen XBlack lighting in action .
I ’ ve been in church ministry for over 20 years now . I ’ ve served at some churches as small as 250 attendees . Until my current position , I ’ ve had the mindset that I could not afford professional-level lighting , so I ’ ve always made do with odds and ends , hand-me-downs , and anything I could use to make color . I ’ m realizing now that my perception and reality were greatly separated . It ’ s kind of like believing you can ’ t afford a nice car , so you buy a car that needs constant repair and if you ’ d evaluate the timecost and the repair cost , you would have been better off biting the bullet and getting a better car . Stay tuned for more car analogies …
