have multiple campuses , and they sort of use their B level players on their satellite campuses and their A players at the home church . So , I was just curious , so is there an audition process for new players coming in to the worship team or to the band ?
[ Jessie-Rose ] Yes , to both . Carly oversees our auditions . We definitely audition for the worship team and not really for the band . The band tends to be a little bit more relational . Think it ’ s more of an organic process in terms of you audition to the church worship team , and then as the years go by , the relationship , the growth , the leadership , the specific things on people ’ s lives , then they ’ re more handpicked , obviously for the recording team .
[ WM ] Alright , so do you all hail from the Brisbane area ?
[ Brett ] My Dad is from Brisbane and my Mom is from California and we moved a lot and my parents were actually missionaries in China , and then I moved back to Brisbane about 13 years ago .
[ Jessie-Rose ] Yeah , I ’ ve grown up in Brisbane , born and raised my whole life in that city .
[ Carly ] I grew up on the Sunshine Coast , so it ’ s just north of Brisbane and it ’ s a beautiful beaches area … a beautiful laid-back coastal small town . And then I moved to Brisbane about four years ago to join the church .

[ WM ] Very nice . So your release , “ Kingdom is Coming ” is such a great song and it ’ s extremely melodic , and those two things together make it highly memorable . What can you tell us about that song ?
“ Kingdom is Coming ”
[ Jessie-Rose ] We wrote that in Nashville actually about a year ago . Bradley Riddle and myself , we went over and we wrote with Ben Tan from the kid who ’ s connected with Young and Free , and he writes with a lot of the guys from the Hillsong kind of community . And Ben ’ s just started playing this kind of fast paced 6 / 8 , that 3 , 4 , 5 chord progression . And we loved it instantly . We were like , “ Yes , that kind really carries a lot of hope ”. And Brad , he ’ s great . He ’ s joyful . And so as he heard that , he was like , “ I want to release a song about the Earth being filled with the glory of God ”. And he seemed to build up a passage of scripture and really began to write out of that .
But I think the essence of the song is the hope that is in the Kingdom coming , which is really fun . And Bradley had actually already written the bridge beforehand . We had tried fitting the bridge into another song we had been working on , and we were like , “ It ’ s a great bridge , but it doesn ’ t quite suit this song ”.
