the new song and worked perfectly . And our church loved it . It was really beautiful . When we took it to the church and I road tested it , they would really sing it together and roar the hallelujah , which was really cool .
[ WM ] You ’ re currently on a songwriting retreat north of Brisbane , correct ?
[ Jessie-Rose ] Yes , we ’ re here writing at the moment . There ’ s nine of us here on this retreat right now . And then we would have a handful of others that even aren ’ t here right now that have written some pretty key stuff . So , I reckon in our community directly , we have 12 pretty solid songwriters . And then in the wider group , there ’ s also people who are writing and developing . I feel like we feel called as a church and team to be a landing place for creatives and songwriters in our region . God ’ s doing something pretty special in our city , not just in our church .
There are other communities that we ’ re quite good friends with , the PW Collective guys , and they ’ re releasing stuff just down the road . And yeah , it feels like there ’ s this amalgamation of creatives and worshipers that feel called to our city and even a moving into our state to be a part of what ’ s happening , which is pretty special . And so , we are wanting to be a space where we can develop and run even training and be a space to father and mother as well . I guess disciple and be a spiritual input to these developing creatives … which is exciting .
[ WM ] Brett , in addition to producing the projects , do you play in the group as well ?

I cut my teeth as a studio B engineer . And then actually when I moved to Brisbane , initially I became a worship pastor at a church and then felt very called to go full-time into production . And so when I got married , I started the studio probably 10 or 12 years ago . I ’ ve had a long running friendship with Jessie-Rose since she was about 14 or
15 years old . So yeah , they came and chatted to me when they wanted to record their first album , and I ’ ve done all of them since .
[ WM ] That ’ s great . Well , the sonics are just superb from what I ’ ve heard , and I really like the production , so I ’ m thrilled to hear your backstory . I didn ’ t know if someone came in from the outside or whatever , so that ’ s wonderful . You ’ ll be releasing new recordings throughout this year . Your recent recording of
