[ WM ] You title there at the church is Worship Pastor and Young Adult Pastor . Both of those carry responsibility . Tell us about the roles you play there ?
[ Jeffrey ] Yes ! As my kids got older ( now 10 and 8 years old ) I worked my way off the road and into positions that would keep me home for weekend soccer games . Not wanting to leave
Jesus Culture as a movement but needing a change of pace from road life , the natural transition was for me to become Worship Pastor at our local churches . Two years ago we planted a Jesus Culture church in San Diego , and I ’ m currently on staff there as the Worship Pastor and Young Adults pastor . Many staffers wear “ multiple hats ” as it ’ s a church plant with a small staff . Young Adults was a seemless transition for me as it ’ s very similar to pastoring a worship team , which primarily exists with young adult volunteers . It ’ s a pleasure to be able to serve our local church in this way .
[ WM ] Since you work with the young adults at your church , is there a plan in place to raise up future worship leaders and worship band members ? Tell us about that ?
[ Jeffrey ] Absolutely . Our worship team has a fairly open-door policy - anyone is free to express interest and ‘ try out ’ for the team at
