guitars . One was my old standby and first guitar I ever owned , a ‘ 91 Gibson SG Celebrity edition . It ’ s an awesome little guitar that sounds incredible . I also played a Players Edition Gretsch Black Falcon which arrived in the mail literally one hour before we went live with the recording night . Good thing too - it looks and sounds incredible !
[ WM ] We have seen you use Bad Cat amps in the past . What are you using now ?
[ Jeffrey ] Yes , I still play and love Bad Cat amps . My favorite is still my signature ‘ Luca ’ model ( named after my oldest son ). It pairs really nicely with my early 90 ’ s era Vox AC306TB . I like to run them in stereo turned up nice and loud , and use them for most live recordings I ’ m a part of .
[ WM ] Are for using IR ’ s and modeling or are you still more traditional in your set-up ?
[ Jeffrey ] Absolutely . I ’ m a fan of everything guitar related - from vintage amps to Helix presets ! My general motto is - if it sounds good - then use it . And I ’ m a sucker for quick and easy solutions . Often in my own home studio you can find me plugging straight into my interface with no pedals at all and using an amp plugin and effect rack chain to get my tones . The great thing about ‘ in-the-box ’ solutions is that producers and engineers are none the wiser about ‘ how ’ you got your guitar tone , as

Live , I still play with my traditional ‘ big ’ pedal board through two tube amps ( often a Bad Cat , Fender Pro Sonic , Vox AC30 , or Matchless Lightning Reverb ). But in my bedroom or in the studio , anything and everything is on the table , and I love experimenting with any and all effects units and digital rigs - no matter if they are loved or hated by the rest of the guitar community .
