like a perfect fit .
[ WM ] Have you had a chance to lead this song “ live ’ yet in a congregational setting ? How did the audience respond ?
[ Meredith ] Yes , several times , and every time it ’ s caught on like a wildfire . When a song like “ Make Room ” is introduced , people who are hungry for the Spirit of God will always respond in worship , and that level of awe and surrender is always so beautiful to witness .
[ WM ] We have interviewed Andrew Bergthold ( We The Kingdom ) before in the magazine . Tell us about your experience with Andrew as the producer on ‘ Make Room ”?
[ Meredith ] Andrew is an absolute gem of a human , and I always enjoy working with him . He is brilliant yet very unassuming . He makes everyone around him feel right at home , and because his studio is on a farm , it ’ s always very entertaining to navigate the various animal sounds outside , especially the rooster ! :)
[ WM ] The vocal melodies on this song just soar and the three different vocal performances are stirring . Tell us about the process of capturing that ?
[ Meredith ] The three of us were never actually in studio together . I laid my vocal down first then Chris and Sarah added theirs at a later time , so the final version honestly blew me away once I heard all of our voices together on the track . Needless to say , I love how it turned out and am so thankful for Chris , Sarah and Andrew .
[ WM ] With the start of a new year and hope rising from all we have been through personally and corporately as believers in Christ the last few years , what hopes do you have for the mission of this song ?
[ Meredith ] After all we ’ ve been through these last two years , I have seen a shaking and awakening within the Church like never before .
It ’ s no longer “ business as usual ,” and I believe we are on the verge of the greatest harvest and revival of our generation . This song feels like it could be an anthem for the day and the hour that we ’ re in … for the Church to pray , “ shake up the ground of all my tradition , break down the walls of all my religion , Your way is better ,” really lays the foundation for God to move . He is drawn to our surrender and always responds to our humility in worship .
[ WM ] I know it is very early in the year of 2022 , but this is already a favorite song of ours here at [ WM ]. Thank you for spending time with us talking about it .
[ Meredith ] Thanks so much for having me !
