at the campus that I was leading , they gathered their money together , and they bought me that guitar . Because I had had that guitar , but the church bought it , so I wasn ' t able to take it with me . And they knew how in love I was with it , and so they found the one other one that was a model online , and they bought it for me and surprised me as my going away gift .
[ WM ] Wow ! That ’ s great ! The song “ Too Good Not to Believe ”, is currently in radio rotation . You wrote this with Cody ( Carnes ). It carries a valuable truth in that those of us who have walked with Christ have seen too much . As Peter said to Jesus , “ Where can we go ? You have the words of eternal life ”. What can you tell us about this collaboration ?
[ Brandon ] Yeah . This song was birthed out of so many testimonies of what we ' ve seen in
Too Good Not to Believe
church , and what we ' ve seen in our families , and what we ' ve seen with strangers , that as we ' ve been faithful to just lay hands on the sick and believe that they ' re going to recover , as our Bible says . And one day , we ' re sitting down , me and Cody and Chris Davenport . And we just began talking about all these things that we had seen . And a few moments later , we ' re like , " Guys , I think this is our song that we ' re supposed to write today ."
And one of the things we had been talking about was our great friend , Joshua Silverberg , who is on the song , yet was never in the room when we wrote it . But we were so inspired by the things that we ' ve seen in his life . He ' s probably seen more healings take place than any of us combined , because he sets aside his Fridays to pray for people . And he really believes in the wonder working power of God and healing . And so , one of the things he would always say is , " God heals because he loves . It ' s in his nature , it ' s in his character , it ' s what he does , and he ' s never stopped healing ."
And so we begin to write this song , and it ' s kind of like this story of men , " I ' ve seen too much . He ' s just too good to not believe . It ' s either real or it ' s not , and I ' m banking on it being real because my eyes have seen . I ' ve experienced this ."
