5 Cool Things I Saw @ NAMM by Eric Dahl
ELIXIR ATTUNE GUITAR STRINGS I don’ t know why strings excite me now, but good strings work great strings make your guitar sound even better. Having the chance to play the new Elixir ATTUNE guitar strings at the NAMM show really impressed me. Their headphones were set up with the guitars to test out isolated the sound and let you feel the strings. First update for Elixir in 10 years. I liked the natural feel and sound of the strings, and these are going to be a hit this year at $ 23.99 a pack to Attune your guitar! www. elixirstrings. com
MARTIN MOLLY TUTTLE MODELS Watching and listening to Molly Tuttle play both of her new Martins at the Media event was impressive. But I was really wowed when I got to play both of these models myself at the Martin Guitar booth. Tuttle is at a level where she can play and probably get endorsed by any guitar company she chooses, but she went with Martin. I’ m looking forward to doing a deeper dive for WM on both of these guitars the Martin D-X2E Molly Tuttle($ 999.99) and the Martin D-18 Molly Tuttle($ 4,199). www. martinguitar. com
KYSER CAPOS Kyser capos had a great booth featuring some of their best endorsed musicians including Trace Bundy. The new Kyser Quick-Change Capos for 2026 include spicey new pastel colors and new Essence of Korean Beauty inspired capos. I had a great time discussing the new capos with their Director of Marketing and everybody at the NAMM show stopped to look at their new offerings. Prices on the new Kyser Quick-Change capos start at $ 24.95 and the new colors and artwork are sure to be a hit with players this year! www. kysermusical. com
GUILD GUITARS Anyone that knows me understands my addiction for 12-string guitars and Guild Guitars was there to feed my need. Meet the new Guild F-412 and the F-412E Jumbo guitar models released at the show. Both models played and sounded incredible, even with the noise of the Guild & Cordoba room. The new models are available in Natural or Pacific Sunset Burst( my personal favorite). Guild has been the gold standard for jumbo 12 strings since the 1970’ s and I was thrilled to see them bring both of these offerings back to the public and update them for today’ s players. Prices range from $ 2,799.99 to $ 3,099.99 and these Guild guitars deliver the full 12-string chime that we all love! www. guildguitars. com
YAMAHA PACIFICA SC SERIES The Yamaha booth was packed full of awesome basses, keyboards, new mixers and every other instrument imaginable but what caught my ears and eyes were the new Pacifica SC( Single-Cutaway) models. Available in the Professional versions from Japan($ 2,199.99) or the Standard Plus made in Indonesia($ 999.99). These guitars are a great value with a lot of tonal options and silky-smooth neck. They feature a humbucker in the neck position and single coil in the bridge so you can nail the twang tones or rock with it. Chambered bodies, Gotoh locking tuners, stainless steel frets, Reflectone pickups and a passive mid-boost sign me up! www. shop. usa. yamaha. com
