[ Andrew ] Yes , I ’ ve got a couple of Martins . I have an Eric Clapton signature model , and I have a Jeff Tweedy double OO . And then I have this little one that ’ s in a lot of the new album videos . It ’ s a little custom-shop Martin . I found it at Gruhn Guitars here in Nashville . It ’ s like a tiny little 12-fret , slot-head stock guitar . And I think it was a one-off . I have the Martin paper , and they just custom-built it for someone . And it was literally the day after Christmas a couple of years ago , and I saw them post about it on Instagram , and I said to my wife , “ Hey , Sarah , I ’ m about to buy a guitar . Sorry .” ( laughing ) And I literally just drove to Gruhn ’ s and bought it . It was one of those love-at-first-sight guitars . But I love that guitar . It ’ s amazing .
For pick-ups , I have K & K ; they ’ re great . The Pure Mini is in all my guitars . I love that . I also use a G7th Nashville capo .
[ WM ] Right on . This next question is for Hope . With so many called and talented worship leaders at The Belonging Co , how does the rotation schedule work ? You ’ ve got so many people to draw from .
[ Hope ] It works because of our amazing music director , Evan Fernald , and David Dennis , our Associate Worship Pastor .
I was on staff for a very long time at my previous church and had to do this job . And it is no small job to schedule any team . And it doesn ’ t really matter if you ’ re scheduling a bunch of worship leaders here in Nashville or you ’ re scheduling people in the middle of Iowa , because they ’ re volunteers . Everyone in our church is a volunteer , so we are not staff . There ’ s only a few people that are actually on staff . And so , just like any other church , they ’ re trying to be super respectful of people ’ s time — job commitments , kids ’ schedules , traveling schedules . It ’ s just our unique scenario here in Nashville that so many of us have jobs that require travel , so scheduling needs to be really practical . They use Planning Center , they send us an email . Right now , we ’ re probably scheduling March . We try to do about a month or so out , and they ’ ll just ask , “ What ’ s your availability ? Block out any dates or any services that you ’ re not available .”
Then they just begin to do the massive puzzle piece of scheduling everyone . And then , for those of us that travel , we try to do a really good job sharing our availability . It ’ s on us to block out dates for as much of the whole year as we can , so that it ’ s kind of already there , so they ’ re not having to think about it or worry about it .
And obviously , things come up at the last minute , but that ’ s really how we do it . It ’ s a really beautiful thing because you don ’ t need to have this person with that person or this person in the band . The beauty of our team is the way that we build it , which is slow and through relationships , so that when we are scheduling a worship team , it doesn ’ t matter who gets
