It ’ s been a year since Pat released his Act Justly , Love Mercy , Walk Humbly , brilliant 17-song collection . And despite the confines of Covid , he has been able to share these remarkable songs with the church , actively touring and leading in worship . We caught up with Pat in this exchange a year into working the project , in order to hear his perspective on it all a year after its release .
[ WM ] Pat , it ’ s great to catch up with you . Let ’ s see , it ’ s been exactly a year since we visited for [ WM ], it was the February issue in 2021 .
[ Pat Barrett ] Love it . Yeah .
[ WM ] I ’ ve been looking at your Winter / Spring touring schedule and boy , you are busy ! To begin , I ’ m going to ask you a question that I have only asked one other person . something like that . So , I had that experience and went to that little square I sat in before . What ' s wild is playing in that same place years later . Because you ' re different . You ' re in a different stage of life . You may be in a different place career-wise , or family wise , or even your head space could be different creatively and I have a fondness for moments like that , where you ' re in the same geography and you notice , " Wow , a lot ' s happened in me in the last five years , ten years !"
[ WM ] Your most recent full release , Act Justly , Love Mercy , Walk Humbly , echoes a truth that I recently wrote about for this publication . In addition to an admonition for our own behavior , Micah 6:8 is a challenge to us as believers to work with people who attempt to ascribe to that same scripture , and to follow its principles . What are your thoughts on this ?
[ Pat ] Oh , gosh . I mean , I have a lot of thoughts on this . I think there ' s something about Micah
