As musicians we all remember our first guitar and may still own it . Having an instrument that fits smaller hands and is easier to navigate is a big deal to help budding musicians want to practice and play more frequently .
Epiphone has launched their new Power Player series offering short scale models of their iconic Les Paul and SG body shapes . For review [ WM ] received both instruments in the Lava Red finish . They are also available in Ice Blue or Dark Matter Ebony ( available via the Epiphone website only ). After unboxing them I can definitely see why adults are gravitating to these guitars as well for a travel guitar or just for fun . Once tuned up to 440 the action and playability on the instruments was incredible with no setup required .
The Epiphone Power Player guitars are 22.73 ” scale with a slimmed down neck and body . The slimmer tapper D shaped neck has a shaved heel connected to the mahogany body as a bolt on configuration . Both guitars are loaded with Epiphone 650R and 700T ceramic humbucker pickups with a volume and tone for each pickup and a three-way toggle switch . The chrome stop tail pieces have adjustment screws on the back with a compensated wrap around bridge secured to the body with chrome studs . Even the mahogany neck is topped with
