When it comes to travel guitars , I have been paying attention to them from the beginning . When I say “ travel guitars ” I am meaning the types that the neck disconnects from the body and folds away nicely . This is quite a design feat actually and also a lot of fun to show your friends and family . I like to pop the neck off of the guitar in front of an unsuspecting person and ask them , “ Do you know any chiropractors who work on guitars ?” Ha !
What I have appreciated about Journey Instruments over the years is their take on the design element that allows you to pop the neck off in the first place . It feels stable and locks into place efficiently . I have a good friend who bought a Journey guitar at our Christian Musician Summit conference about 6 years ago and he says he still uses the instrument regularly , it sounds good and the mechanism is still rock steady . There you go , proof in the pudding !
What is new about this PJ410N model is the smaller than usual body shape . The shorter 23- inch scale is very comfortable to play and has my favorite 1 11 / 16 ” nut width as well for easy chording . It then collapses to a carry-on size of 18.5 * 12.5 * 7 inches !
You may think of travel guitars for going back and forth at school , vacations , business trips and other outings ( like the great outdoors ), but another aspect of this smaller body instrument that is a bonus is when you are sitting on your chair or couch watching tv etc . A dreadnought
