Even though this is a noncutaway guitar , I didn ’ t find myself missing the deeper access up the neck as much as I thought I would . The Eucalyptus fretboard wood choice maintains the understated looks of the AD22e .
The thin Taylor matte finish makes it feel like there almost isn ’ t a finish at all on the instrument allowing it to breath and resonate freely . Plus , I like the more natural feel similar to a guitar you have played for many years and you just bond with it . The purfling around the top of the guitar is black , the fretboard inlays are made of Italian acrylic and the rosette is a mix of black Sapele and Maple . Taylor is calling the finish on the AD22e Urban Sienna , but it is a color and finish that can be played heavily and still look new .
