section with preset sounds from various artists and music genre collections and amp sounds from Crystal Boutique to Smooth Vintage. All of the sounds can be previewed first, and if you like them, download them.
Positive Grid is also counting on the community of Reactor amp players to build, create, and share their tone creations with other musicians. One of the many great features of the Reactor is that it provides the capability to create your amp tone and adjust your effects and then tweak each virtual device and alter the order of the effects as you see fit.
For worship music, you can create the amp tones of the artist or band and save them for that particular song on Sunday. I would also recommend creating and capturing all of your favorite vintage and boutique amplifiers and dialing those in to suit your taste and playing needs.
On the back of the Reactor amplifier, the connectivity consists of MIDI in and Reactor control footswitch( optional $ 149), power amp in, ¼” line out and headphone jack line out, FX send & return, USB C, pairing, and selectable wattage.
To recap, the Reactor Intelligent combo amp is the best digital amp I have reviewed to date. It is designed for live performance and studio recording, and it has so many options that I would recommend starting out with creating three that you love— then build more. Between the app and the Reactor amp, Positive Grid shares that it has decoded over 200 amplifiers, over 1,000 circuit parameters, and over 1 million tones. When you can load in your favorite song title from Needtobreathe and the amp intelligence can get me pretty close to the recording, then it works for me.
The Reactor combo also weighs less than 24 lbs., making hauling it around to church and practice a lot easier on your arms and back. The starting price for the Reactor 50W is only $ 349( as reviewed); the 100W goes for $ 449, both of which are easy on your bank account.
I hope that Positive Grid will offer an amp cover for the Reactor in the near future. Tilt-back side legs for angling the amp would also be a nice feature. Both of these can be accomplished with an aftermarket cover to protect your investment and an amp rack or stand to angle it.
Visit the website, listen to the demos, but most of all play a Reactor amplifier for yourself. When major touring bands and top artists are leaving their vintage amplifiers at home and going digital, then we should all consider the tones, options, and dependability that are being made available to us at a reasonable price. The Reactor amp blew me away; literally at 1W wide open, I would spend my own money on this amp and purchase the Control pedal too. I own and use Positive Grid products and suggest them to friends and family. I’ m thrilled that the company has gotten into the live performance space with this new combo amp!
