from hand to hand while naturally experiencing some spillage along the way . The delay created is like a hand-to-hand repeat that experiences a bit of loss along the way . The 3205 and 3005 voices are based on the old Panasonic BBD MN3205 and Matushita MN3005 chips . The 3205 setting recreates the sound of a single , low-voltage chip and creates gritty repeats that are good for slap-backs . The 3005 setting creates the sound and character of vintage delay pedals using two MN3005 chips , and this setting is great for longer delay times . The Multi setting creates complex sounds using two cross-coupled delay lines .
I asked Sam to give me some feedback after adding the Brig to his board for a couple of Sundays … “ Obviously , I can have presets on my Timeline and switch through them while playing , but it ’ s nice to have a simple look at another delay that adds some great texture to both acoustic and lead electric lines . It ’ s also nice to have the option to put this delay in a different chain of my effect pedals to have more customization in how I layer my sounds . The Brig definitely would be a good stand-alone delay , I really would like to add an external foot switch for tap delay . But honestly , just using the 4 presets Strymon provided in the manual , you can get a strong solo delay .”
So , if you already have the Timeline like Sam does , adding the Brig can provide you with that delay stacking effect that is so effective in playing ambient guitar and is very prevalent in worship right now . As a stand-alone delay , the Brig is a perfect effect for acoustic or electric guitar whether it ’ s for slap-back or a variety of other delay effects . The Brig can be run as stereo in and out ( with adding a TRS adapter cable ), mono in and stereo out or mono in and out and the TRS / MIDI jack can be set to operate in one of five modes : Expression Pedal , Favorite , Tap , Infinite , or MIDI Mode . The pedal requires 9V power and 250ma of current , and that being said , there is no worry of over or under-powering your pedals when you use the Strymon Zuma Power Supply .
When using the MIDI mode , presets can be
saved whether you ’ re using the 3005 , 3205 , or the Multi Voice as well as all the fine tuning that can be dialed in . This way you ’ re able to utilize the full spectrum of options and power that the Brig brings to your board and your music . If you just want to store a couple of settings , you can add a Strymon MiniSwitch or one of the MultiSwitch units . If you ’ re needing to store a library of settings , using full MIDI functionality allows up to 300 presets to be saved and recalled .
