hand . The nut is made of Boneite and there is a string tree that maintains the G , D and E strings with one bar .
In some ways the Club King 290 unites features from multiple big box guitar brands , but somehow makes them all work in unison in one guitar . Playability and sound wise this instrument will not compete with the other instruments in your praise team that are typically the garden variety electric guitars with single coils or humbuckers . The 9A5 pickups have their own sound and the semi-hollow body and Bigsby help to augment that even more .
If you have a multi-instrument band the goal is to fill a frequency void that no one else is playing in , but it still contributes to the Praise songs . The game changer on the Reverend Club King 290 for me is the Bass Contour control . I love bass as much as everyone else playing guitar , but unfortunately the sound can also get muddy and compete with the actual Bass Guitar in the band . Reverend ’ s Bass Contour allowed me to dial in just the right amount of bass , full bass , or no bass for a jangly sound . This added tone control expands the capabilities of this instrument to many sound possibilities paired with the 3-way pickup selector and traditional tone control .
If you ’ re in the market for something different visually and sound wise and a guitar that can be a tone chameleon , then the Reverend Club King 290 is the guitar for you . Priced at $ 1,199 street this guitar is value priced for what it delivers . Case or gig bag are optional , but I recommend the two-tone tear drop Reverend hardcase to protect your investment available for $ 219 . Checkout the other reviews and videos on this Reverend guitar and play one for yourself , you ’ ll be a fan too .
