the lower end of the keyboard . No additional amplification is needed . It ’ s all built-in . Later , when learning more about the instrument , I realized the sound is amplified with a “ multidimensional Morphing AiR Sound Source .” To the lay person , I understood there are speakers up and down the keyboard , sending sound out the front and back of the instrument . It ’ s amazing .
Speaking of sound , the simulation of instruments is also amazing . While I enjoy playing with all the crazy sounds of any keyboard , I ’ m a pianist always interested in the sound of a piano . The Casio Privia offers several from which to choose – and they are all exceptional . However , it was when experimenting with solo instruments that I was impressed . When you split the keyboard and feature a solo instrument such as a trumpet , or stringed instrument , the Privia shines . Combined with the incredible sound system , the sound simply amazed me .
Casio has created a keyboard that is aesthetically beautiful . The sleek architecture , and minimalist design was beautiful sitting in my living room . It almost has a sculptural quality to it . The clever use of space means the keyboard complements the most elegantly designed room .
With all of these advantages I did have one comment on the navigation … it was a little challenging for me . Perhaps the simplistic design was given a priority over function . To change from sound to sound requires backing out of the menu and remembering sound locations . Like any new functional setup , there is a learning curve .
The Casio Privia PX-S7000 is certainly worth spending time on . However , it ’ s a quality instrument with excellent action and sound .
