[ WM ] When we met at our Worship Musician booth at NAMM you told me about an organ company that I had never heard of before. You said they make really good products. Tell us about the Viscount organ company?
[ Ben ] Would you believe that this company that you had never heard of before has its roots in Italy for nearly 100 years? What began as an accordion company has evolved over time to be one of today’ s top organ companies. We became aware of them about 15 years ago, and they sure have come on strong in the last few years with some of the best organ products available.
Musicians should check out two types of Viscount organs: the Tonewheel“ Legend” organ series, which has been endorsed by all kinds of artists including the late, great Joey
DeFrancesco, and the portable, classical organ series called“ Cantorum.”
These are remarkable instruments, with the Legend series being your choice for gospel, jazz, pop and rock, and the Cantorum series being ideal for traditional worship settings without requiring a premium of space. The Cantorum, in particular, is super unique. Portable, yet having options for bass pedals, matching stands and benches, single, dual, and triple manual keyboards. Every organization is navigating a budget, both dollars and space, right? But they want excellent sound and playability. We’ ve found the Cantorum to be an incredible option for so many churches, big or small.
As an aside, we recently had the pleasure of delivering a complete Cantorum system to a church in Colorado. They were replacing an older, ailing organ system, and chose a Cantorum Trio( triple manual), bass pedals, and stand to take its place. What was just awesome is that the worship leader filmed FedEx Freight delivering all of the boxes to them, then they filmed the setup and the placing of the instrument near the altar area, and finally filmed the organist in action with a full congregation, complete with an“ Amen” musical ending and a“ Thank you Adam and Kraft Music” overlayed on the video. It was gratifying for our team to see the end result of that church’ s purchase!
[ WM ] Besides keyboards of all shapes and sizes, you also carry digital drums. According to NAMM statistics, 50 % of all new digital drum sales go to the churches. Tell us about the digital drum side of your store?
[ Ben ] Yes, we are a keyboard company at
