we need to make a product that not only stands up to the test of time , but also sounds killer . Most worship guitarists are trying to achieve these huge sounds we all hear on professionally recorded albums and we are doing our best to help recreate this on Sunday morning .
Then we try and find a good balance between features and functionality / workflow , because what good do all those features do if you can ’ t access them on the fly . We know it ’ s going to be impossible to please every guitar player as we all have our own opinion what “ sounds ” good . That being said , when adding features into our pedals our goal is to offer a wide range of sweep from one end of the knob to the other , hoping our products will appeal to as large of an audience as possible .
Sometimes in order to make our pedals more user friendly , we will have to hard code fixed parameters into our algorithms . These are the times that make me the most nervous as I ’ m hoping others will enjoy the sounds that I ’ m hearing in my head !
[ WM ] Speaking of designing new pedals . You have two brand new products now . Tell us about the Lion and the Lamb ?
[ Junior ] We are super excited about these two pedals , they are going to fit right in with our current lineup as well as our vision for equipping the worship guitarist ! The Lion and Lamb are 100 % all analog distortion and overdrive pedals , but have a complete digital brain for storing presets and full MIDI control of every feature , knob , setting , etc . The goal with these two pedals is to really make people rethink how to use drives .
Traditionally folks will stack multiple drives to achieve either different levels of gain / saturation or EQ changes . Now having on-board presets and full MIDI control , we are hoping these will eliminate extra pedals and can gain back some precious pedalboard real estate . We felt it was important to offer both an overdrive and a distortion as these two circuits sound quite different from each other , plus they have very specific roles in worship music .
