guitar players than distortion pedals , but you say you believe there is a place for distortion pedals in worship music . That was an intriguing statement . Expound on that for us ?
[ Junior ] Sure ! As I ’ ve mentioned , we are all doing our best to try and recreate these huge sounds we hear on modern worship albums . Some of our favorite worship music right now is coming from teams like Red Rocks Worship , Jesus Culture , and Bethel Music which all have some killer lead work on the guitar . Overdrive is great when you want that mild “ tube ” like breakup , like maybe a cranked AC30 . However , nothing beats distortion when laying down some fat rhythm chords during a bridge , doing lead work , or when taking a solo . Distortion will be a quite a bit more compressed and will make your single note lead lines sustain / ring out much longer than an overdrive pedal or even a couple of stacked overdrives .
[ WM ] You make each pedal yourself by hand . At some point will you be bringing on some help in the shop to be able to keep up with the demand ?
[ Junior ] I am sure that day will come , and probably sooner than I think , but for now we have processes put in place that really help us crank out quite a few pedals relatively quickly . Currently we outsource all our enclosures ( drill , powder and print ), PCB fabrication , and surface mount component placement and soldering . Here at the JET shop , we hand solder all the through hole components , assemble the pedals complete , and then play test each and every one before they leave the shop . My wife Jayme is our marketing genius and handles a lot of our social media efforts as well as the look and feel for most of our products . When things get super busy , she is not shy to jump in and start soldering up pedals to help get our backlog down to a reasonable size !
[ WM ] With such a strong product with your Revelation Reverb , and now adding the Lion and Lamb pedals , are you prepared to scale your manufacturing to keep up with the demand ?
