at home or school and church, God’s Word
is being planted in their heart. I do not take
this responsibility lightly. I am intentional and
strategic about how I craft these songs. As I
get to hear stories of how these songs make
a difference in families and ministries I am
blown away. It’s my greatest honor to be the
soundtrack to their days.
[WM] Another thing I like about your ministry
is that you point to the holidays. There are
so many key days throughout the year that a
Church celebrates and you offer support for
those with your songs.
[Yancy] Absolutely! I love writing seasonal
songs that you can use to celebrate the special
days that come throughout the year like Easter,
Christmas, Mother’s Day as well as songs
about loving one another, being thankful and
not being afraid. Having a song that kids can
sing and perform in seasonal programs and
services is such a joy for me.
[WM] There’s a song on this project that
is very timely. Tell us more about “Made in
the Image”.
[Yancy] About a year ago I started writing
“Made in the Image” inspired after an event I
attended. On my drive home, I started writing
the song, confident that the message that God
made every man, woman, boy and girl needed
to be heard. When we look at scripture it is easy
to see that every person, every color, every
race, every tongue was made in the image of
God. We are all fearfully and wonderfully made.
This is truth that so many need to be reminded
of. In light of recent events in America it seems
it's a message that needs to be echoed again
in again for all to hear. I’m joined by my friend
and artist/songwriter Erskin Anavitarte to share
this message that we are all made in the image
