it would be fun to have Kari. We knew Kari back
when she was a background singer at Gateway
Church in Dallas. She was a friend of ours and
it has been fun to see God raise her up over
the years. This song was another example of
just calling on an old friend and saying, “How
would you feel about singing with me on this?”
I’m really pleased with that.
As to “What a Good God”, I met Brenton when
he was eighteen years old in South Africa, I was
teaching at a YWAM school. Here I am living in
Lindale Texas and I’m living in a mobile home
with three little babies and I get invited to South
Africa to teach at YWAM for ten days. I was like,
is this a smart thing to do? They’re not paying
much, God, give me wisdom. Anyway, I went,
and what a blessing that trip was, I met this
eighteen year old guy named Brenton Brown
and we hung out a lot during that week and
spent time together. Then we continued to be
friends, and as he went along, we’ve written
many songs together over the years. So, it was
special. We wrote a few songs, and this was
the one we felt was the strongest. I’m happy
with it, I really am. It’s the song that opens up
the whole album.

contributors here. What can you tell us about together. When we were finished I just thought
