because Harvey left them both to me. I have
recorded with them a number of times. One of
my favorites was recording White Christmas
with Eric Johnson and I used the old '64. Eric
also loved that guitar. The first electric guitar I
ever played as a soloist on the Grand Ole Opry
was a 1957 Gretsch Chet Atkins 6120. There's
nothing quite like that "great Gretsch sound!"
Not long ago, Fred Gretsch invited me to
lunch and said something to me that I was so
impressed with I had to write it down. "Our goal
is to find and develop the next generation of
exceptional leadership for the Gretsch family
business, and thereby continue to support the
goal of enriching lives through participation in
music and raising up liturgical guitarists and
drummers." It's amazing to see how many
worship leaders and guitarists are using their
cherished Gretsch guitars in the worship arena.
I pray that Fred's goals and dreams continue
to come into fruition as he and his beloved
Gretsch company also help other musicians
fulfill their dreams and passion to further the
Gospel around the world! As I was recording
"Treasures of The Spirit" at Eric Johnson's
‘DROFF and MGC
studio in Austin, I used my White Falcon on
several songs. It was the perfect guitar and the NIGEL HENDROFF aka ‘DROFF
