WE THE KINGDOM
HOLY WATER 2.0
By Alexander W. MacDougall
During the “dog days” of late July and the
ongoing pandemic, I spoke with the members
of We the Kingdom; Ed, Scott, Franni, Andrew,
and Martin. Their first full length project, Holy
Water, releases by Capitol Christian Music on
August 7. Since my first interview with them in
the December 2019 issue of Worship Musician,
I was privileged to experience them in concert,
and be led in worship by them at this past
January’s Worship Together conference. 100
million streams and a #1 chart topping song
later, they offer their candid reflections in
creating Holy Water.

expectations not realized?

searching during this season, and I think there is
nothing like a global pandemic to set in front of
the mirror of your heart and see what might be
reflected back at you. There has never been a
better time in history I think for us, as individuals
and as a globe, to take a look at our hearts and
at the things in us that might be places where
the Lord wants to move, and where He wants
to work or perform surgery. So that’s been a real
gift, it has been really hard for me to deal with
